Chet is a retired senior chief petty officer and a veteran of
World War II and the Korean War, where he was a member
of the Navy's elite Underwater Demolition Teams. He is a
former instructor at the Navy's Explosive Ordnance
Disposal School and served in Vietnam as a civilian. In
retirement, he captained the Peace & Plenty for nearly 40
years. He lives in Stuart, Florida.
Derek is the Washington Bureau Chief for Stars and Stripes,
the independent newspaper serving the U.S. military
around the world. He lives in La Plata, Maryland.
